I can’t believe that summer is almost here!
The kids only have a few more weeks of school before their summer break starts. It already seems like everyone, including kids, parents and teachers, are all more focused on the fun end-of-year events than they are on actual schoolwork.
I’m excited about summer starting too, because this year we have something very cool planned for the kids during break. Instead of a long summer of brain drain, we’ll be keeping the kids active and learning with an exciting summer challenge called Brain Chase.
A few weeks ago, I told you a little about Brain Chase and why it’s wonderful for kids. It’s a 5-week online summer learning challenge for 2nd through 8th graders. The kids complete different educational activities and assignments to progress through the challenge as they hunt for a golden treasure and a $10,000 scholarship prize.
Brain Chase is the perfect way to take summer learning to a fun new level and now I have some fun updates to share.
Foreign Language Module
Brain Chase is partnering with Rosetta Stone to bring an exciting new option to the challenge. Kids will have the chance to learn a new language during their summer adventure. They can choose one of over 30 languages to learn if they want to substitute the language module in place of the writing module. There will be 2 language lessons each week, so this is a great way to try a completely new and interesting language or to introduce children to the language they’ll be learning in school next year.
Added Adventures
Brain Chase has several upcoming challenges in addition to the actual summer quest. In the following cities, a voucher worth $1,000 is hidden in a local public library:
Seattle (May 11)
Boston (May 18)
Orange County (June 1)
If you live nearby, be sure to check it out!
Brain Chase Summer Learning Challenge Prize
As I mentioned in my initial post, the winner of the Brain Chase challenge gets an amazing price. The lucky winner will find the beautiful Sunstone of Cortés trophy, complete with mechanically rotating components that open to reveal the center compartment, where a key to retrieve the $10,000 prize will be hidden. How cool is that?!?!
How to Join
Brain Chase is offering registration for $199 for the first child and $100 for each sibling. If you would like to upgrade to receive the registration plus a Brain Chase branded adventure backpack, a Brain Chase t-shirt and a Sunstone of Cortés patch, the premium package is $249 for the first registration and $149 for each sibling.

Brody loves to learn and does really well in school and although we love summer break it can get quite boring. This would be a super great tool to help keep his mind busy while he is learning and having fun. He really enjoys working on a computer and next year in 3rd grade all the kids will have their own Chromebook so this would be yet another way to get him some computer practice. Thank you for offering this giveaway!!
