Chicago Cutlery DesignPro Chef Knives – I’m a Mom Ambassador!

As my husband would tell you, I’m not much of a chef. Until recently, I never had nice small appliances and kitchenware in my home. There just wasn’t any need for it since I didn’t really know how to cook.

But that has changed over the past couple of years. I’m a lot more interested in cooking homemade meals now, with lots of fresh vegetables, herbs and spices. I want to learn how to make healthy and delicious meals for my family and have started working toward that goal. I’m slowly adding the necessary cooking pans and utensils that will help me as I go and am even planning to sign up for a cooking class with a local chef!

I was given the chance to be a Chicago Cutlery Mom Ambassador and am really honored. Since I’m still somewhat a novice in the kitchen, I’m excited about learning to properly use the knives and then share my experience with you!  :)

I received the 8 inch Chef Knife, the 8 inch Scalloped Bread Knife and the 5 inch Santoku Knife. The Chicago Cutlery DesignPro Chef Knives are really nice quality, heavy and solid with a comfortable handle to grip. They’re also extremely sharp, so I was glad that they come with heavy-duty plastic sleeves for storage.

Even as a beginner, I know that the knives all have different functions and work differently on different foods.  I’m looking forward to learning exactly how to use my new knives in the correct way. But in the meantime, I just had to get the Chef Knife and test it out on some lettuce.

I had so much fun using the Chef Knife that I ended up chopping that lettuce until it was green mush.  :)   I felt like I was on a cooking show just chopping away and seeing the knife actually chopping the food. My old knives never even came close to chopping like this…in order to “chop” lettuce, I would chop and drag, chop and drag.  It’s so nice to be able to cut quickly and easily through vegetables now!

So stay tuned and learn more as I do about how to use these awesome knives!  If you want to get your own Chicago Cutlery DesignPro Knives and learn along with me, head over to Amazon and check them out! I’ll also be giving away one of these amazing knives so be sure to check back!

I wrote this review while participating in a Brand Ambassador Campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Chicago Cutlery and received products to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
