My sweet little 5-year old has always been a great sleeper. As a baby, she slept through the night almost immediately. As a toddler, she’d take me to her crib when she was ready for naptimes.
She sleeps well and sleeps deeply. That was great when she was younger, but now that she’s five, she’s still sleeping very deeply. She doesn’t wake up easily at all, not even when she needs to go to the bathroom. My five-year old was finished with potty training two years ago, but still sometimes has accidents at night.
We’ve talked to the Pediatrician about her bedwetting. He’s reassured us that it’s not unusual at this age and that she’ll probably get more used to waking up as she gets a little older. She’s not embarrassed about it and knows that it’s just because she’s such a sound sleeper.
But it can be inconvenient to deal with the accidents in the middle of the night. See how we solved that problem with GoodNites Bed Mats, one of Parade Magazine’s 2012 Products of the Year:
