We have a lot of LeapFrog products in our house. The kids all love playing on them and I love seeing them having fun while they learn. Whether they involve reading, writing or learning basics like letters and numbers, there aren’t many children’s toys that can compare with LeapFrog products.
We had a party last weekend to share some fun new LeapFrog products – our Ready, Set, Read & Write Party!
The girls helped me write out invitations and we invited 3 friends for each child. They’re all at different levels in their reading abilities, but all have room to learn more.
My younger daughter hasn’t been reading long and still struggles with sounding out and spelling a lot of words. And my son is just starting to understand what letters and numbers are.
I was excited about seeing them play with the awesome new LeapFrog products.
As the kids arrived, they were all excited about the 3D glasses sitting at each table setting. So after snacks, we got started on LeapFrog’s first-ever 3D book, Monsters University.
Using the LeapReader, the kids went through the book reading and playing learning games throughout the story. Whenever there was a word they didn’t know, they just touched it to hear the pronunciation. The kids all wore their 3D glasses to see the monsters and backgrounds appear to rise up off of the pages and had a ball using their reasoning skills through the story.
Two other new products that the kids really loved were the Talking Words Factories in the Learn to Write Letters with Mr. Pencil and the Talking Words Factory Activity Sets. Both sets had interactive activities that the kids could touch with the LeapReader to work on their letters and words.
But what the kids really loved about the Activity Sets was the special LeapFrog writing paper. The kids could trace letters to practice forming them correctly, but instead of guessing whether or not they were forming them correctly, they could now see what they’d written.
The older kids had a great time with the special LeapFrog writing paper in the sets, so I’m looking forward to when my son gets a little older and can really practice his letters with it too.
He got a little start by writing his first letters (ever!) on the LeapFrog coloring sheet he was coloring. It was great to see him tracing the letters and trying to make them on his own!
The younger kids also had fun with the Learn to Read Talking Words Flashcards. By switching out the cards, they were able to make different words. The cards are color-coded, so it was easy for them to know which cards were the beginning of words and which cards had the endings.
And with the LeapFrog Reader, they were able to hear the words they created and even play games with the cards. They had a lot of fun changing out the cards to hear what words they’d made and I can’t wait to use the flashcards more as my son continues to learn his letters and sounds.
After playing with all of the awesome LeapFrog products, the kids finished up their green cupcakes and it was time for the awards ceremony.
Each child was thrilled to get his and her own LeapFrog award and be designated as a Ready, Set, Read & Write Rockstar!
