When I picked my daughter up from school yesterday, her face was bright red from the cold.
I brought her home and got her warmed up and gave her a snack while she started on her homework.
After a while, I realized that her cheeks were still bright pink. They weren’t going back to normal after she’d warmed up.
As it turned out, she has Fifth Disease and the “slapped cheeks” look is a common rash that goes along with the virus.
Sometimes there is just no way to stop my children from catching a bug that’s going around school, but I want to help them avoid germs whenever they can.
I want my kids stay as healthy as possible in the winter, so we do a few things each day that help:
• Sleep ~ When the kids are tired and run-down, they’re not feeling their best. We have a regular evening routine and make sure that the kids are all in bed at bedtime so they get enough sleep every night.
• Diet ~ Kids need a balanced diet to give them the proper fuel for a busy day. We make sure that the kids all get lots of healthy vegetables and fruits each day. The kids also take a L’il Critters gummy vitamins to help ensure that they get the essential vitamins and minerals each day.
• Exercise ~ I’m thankful that our school allows the children to get out and be active for a recess each day. We also head to local playgrounds some days after school to have more play time. Exercise is very important for staying healthy, so we make sure the kids get exercise daily.
How do you make sure your kids are staying healthy in the Winter?

Its always a fight to keep my kids healthy during the winter, I have one daughter that has a weakended immune system, and a son that was born at 26 wks so he always gets so sick. So lately we have been giving a multi vitamin and eating healthier, and like you said trying to get more sleep!!
