Can you believe that Easter is almost here? It seems like we just started the new year, doesn’t it?
Easter falls early this year, so I’m already starting to plan our holiday. We have a few traditions that we’ve created as a family and will continue to enjoy them this year.
First, obviously, is a visit from the Easter Bunny. For some reason, our bunny likes to hide the kids’ baskets throughout the house. The children have to walk around and search if they want their baskets.
Our second tradition is one of my favorites, although the kids probably wouldn’t feel the same. Every year, while the kids are dressed up in their Easter best, I have a little photo session with them in a local park. It’s usually gorgeous outside, and it’s a wonderful chance for me to document how they’ve grown over the last year.
Last, but not least, is the Easter egg hunt. Our town throws amazing egg hunts for all the different age groups of kids and my children have a ball every year.
This year, we decided to add a fun new Easter surprise for the kids – a candy buffet. We have some family friends coming over on Easter, so I thought it would be a great way for our guests of all ages to join in the fun.
The kids usually get a lot of small toys and books from the Easter bunny, so we thought a DIY Candy Buffet would be fun. The kids will be able to choose their favorite candies themselves. I know they’re going to love it!
Since I wanted my DIY Candy Buffet to be special, I made sure to use some very special goodies – all from See’s Candies.
