Although my kids are only a few years apart, those years make a big difference in the ways that they like to play. My older daughter is reading long chapter books while my toddler is learning his letters. The girls love to play with dolls, but one prefers intricate plot lines and background stories, while the other just wants to walk the baby in a stroller.
So I love when we find a toy that all of the kids love.
Littlest Pet Shop toys let my kids be who they want to be. They can join together to create a downtown city, but each be able to decorate and design their own little shop. It’s a great way for them to play and work together while still having their own creative space.
To celebrate our new Littlest Pet Shop Toys, we invited some of the girls’ friends over for a Littlest Pet Shop party. We brought out lots of awesome Littlest Pet Shop goodies, including the Littlest Pet Shop Style Set, Blythes’s Bedroom Style Set, the Love in Paris Pet Pair with Zoe Trent and Phillipe Boudreaux and the Sweetest Pets DVD.
While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, we watched the Sweetest Pets DVD. The girls all loved watching Blythe talking to the animals and got excited about being creative with their own dolls and animals.
Once everyone had arrived, we headed out to the backyard to have some fun. The girls and I had set up snacks for everyone and laid out all of the toys. Everyone was so excited about playing with the Littlest Pet Shop goodies!
Each kit comes with so many cool pieces that allow the kids to be creative and to decorate and design their shop however they want. Whether they want to mix and match window colors or change the rooftop terrace into a pool for swimming, the girls all love being able to create lots of different styles.
.
Once the girls got the basic forms of the shops up, they loved styling with the deco bits and accessories that came in the kits. There are so many details included in the style sets – from shop signs to chandeliers that hang from the ceiling.
Once the girls had Blythe’s Bedroom and the Littlest Pet Shop set up, we combined them with other Littlest Pet Shop toys we owned and created a little street scene. The kids loved walking the pets into the street to talk and visit, then bring them into each shop and bedroom to play.
Perfect for creative and imaginative play!
The kids all had a great afternoon playing with the Littlest Pet Shop toys and each other. I’m thrilled with how well everything (and everyone) worked together, making creative play fun and easy for all of the kids.
The girls have already starting talking about adding to their “city”, so we’ll definitely be adding Littlest Pet Shop toys to their Christmas lists this year!
