It’s almost the 4th of July!
We’ve been at the beach this week with my husband’s family and are looking forward to spending the holiday together. His parents live several states away, so it’s a great time for them to visit us, visit my sister-in-law and her family and to enjoy the beach and the holiday together.
We have a tradition that has sort of evolved on our family vacations over the years.
During the vacation week, each family chooses one night to make dinner for the entire family. We head over to that beach house and enjoy the meal and the company for the evening, then go to the next house the following night. It’s a lot of fun and it’s nice to enjoy a break from cooking for most of the week.
Then on the 4th, each family brings a part of the meal to share – an app, a dessert, a side dish or entrée. It started off as a simple family cook-out, but it seems like every year the dishes get more interesting and fun.
Our family is supposed to bring a dessert, but we decided to make it fun. So, for our 4th of July celebration, we’re going to be bringing an entire selection of ice cream sundae “fixin’s” for everyone to enjoy.
Those are from a practice run we did this afternoon. The kids were more than happy to help me practice and to “taste test” the goodies.
And they were amazing, let me tell you. Not just any old sundaes.
Because these sundaes were made with extra thick and creamy Edy’s Frozen Custards.
There are 6 different flavors of Edy’s/Dreyer’s Frozen Custards, and I can tell you that the three we’ve sampled so far were awesome!
The flavors are:
Dreyer’s/EDY’S® Old Fashioned Vanilla Frozen Custard
Dreyer’s/EDY’S® Chocolate Malt Frozen Custard
Dreyer’s/EDY’S® Salted Caramel Pretzel Frozen Custard
Dreyer’s/EDY’S® Snickerdoodle Frozen Custard
Dreyer’s/EDY’S® Peanut Butter Pie Frozen Custard
Dreyer’s/EDY’S® Mint Cookies ’N Cream Frozen Custard
Doesn’t that look good?
We bought Old Fashioned Vanilla and Salted Caramel Pretzel for the cook-out, but I can already tell that we’ll probably have to go back and grab a few more flavors. I kinda feel like it’s my job as the dessert provider, ya know? Just being responsible, really.
Mmmmmm!
It’s so creamy and rich and GOOD, made with fresh milk from local farms, without any artificial colors or flavors. Definitely give it a try!
You can find Edy’s and Dreyer’s Frozen Custard in the freezer aisle at retailers throughout the country, including Safeway, Kroger, Food Lion, Target, Walmart, Publix, HEB and more.

I use angel food cake slices and put a scoop or two of vanilla frozen custard on top than sprinkle sliced bananas, strawberries and blueberries on top with a dollop of whipped cream and it is so YUMMY!!!!!
Frozen custard at the grocery? I had no idea!! It would be great to serve with fresh berries.
I think I’d serve this treat with a slice of blueberry pie or maybe as a filling between two homemade cookies.
I would use it on top of a brownie with some chocolate sauce and peanuts. Thanks for the giveaway.
I would serve my frozen custard like a buffet with apple pie and some sprinkles as well as some brownies and sugar cookies!
I would love to make a sundae station, with all kinds of toppings and sauces. Mmmm!
Cook up some blueberries with a little water, lemon juice and sugar for a few minutes and cool. Use as a topping for your wonderful Edy’s ice ream
You can’t go wrong with the hot fudge brownie sundae.
So good after a meal – cool and refreshing all by itself.
I just made an ice cream cake for Father’s Day and it was a big hit! These ice creams would be great to try in one!
I’d love to have a frozen custard and ice cream sundae party for my boys’ little league teams end of season parties.
At this time of the year I have to take advantage of the fresh peaches and serve them as a topping.
I would make a buffet with different choices from fresh fruits to sliced pound cake, brownies and cookies and different sauces to,different drinks, so that everyone could make a great concoction with the frozen custard.
These would be perfect in a custard buffet with all different kinds of toppings. After we grill burgers and hot dogs, people could enjoy making their own sundae! I also think several of the flavors would be great inbetween a cookie as a custard sandwich.
Frozen Custard from Edys with fresh Strawberries and Blueberries would be great for the Fourth of July!
Frozen Custard made into a banana split would be yummy!
This would be great on top of a nice, warm, homemade apple pie!! Can’t get more American than homemade apple pie!
We would use this to top our peach and apple cobblers.
for me i would just put it on sugar cones..thanks
I would love to serve this with lemon pound cake! YUM.
I would serve it with lady fingers.
What is more American that apple pie with frozen custard of course!
I would serve this as a sundae bar with other toppings like sprinkles, fudge, fresh fruit. This would be great to serve for birthday parties as well.
My kids love custard milkshakes and for the 4th they can be vanilla, strawberry or blueberry
I think a Sundae Bar with different toppings would be a lot of fun at a summer party.
Thank you for the review and giveaway!
I would fill a wheelbarrow with ice and place the custard containers on top (pressed in the ice a little). I would have toppings on crates surrounding the wheelbarrow.
this sounds delicious and can’t wait to try it.
The kids and adults would love a little custard bar with all the toppings.
I bet this would taste delicious with some grilled pineapple and peaches. Yum! Summer flavors are my favorite.
I would have a custard bar with fresh cut up fruits, and delicious cookies, or brownies.
I would love to make a waffle custard sandwich after a BBQ. thanks for the chance
we are big peanut butter lovers, so my family would love to have the Dreyer’s/EDY’S® Peanut Butter Pie Frozen Custard, on waffle cones
