When my husband and I built our house, there were some features that we knew we wanted to include. As we talked with our builder, some of the items on our wish list didn’t work out, but a few we didn’t budge on. We made sure those “must-haves” would be part of our home if we planned to build.
The features that we had to have were a screened porch, a large deck off the back of the house, a private back yard, and lots and lots and lots of windows.
I’m not sure if I knew much about the quality of those windows when we built the house. I knew I wanted a lot of windows, and that’s just what we got.
But those many gorgeous windows aren’t actually that wonderful. They look beautiful but are horrible at letting air seep in and out of the house. I can stand by any window in the house and feel cold air coming inside in the winter or hot air coming inside in the summer.
My husband and I’ve talked about replacing the windows, but it would cost an enormous amount that we just can’t afford. We’ve talked about sealants and other products that might help seal the gaps around the windows, but don’t want anything permanent. We still want to be able to open the windows when the weather is pleasant outside.
Thankfully, I finally heard about a product that is exactly what we’ve been needing for our windows – Duck® Brand Window Kits.
I got a Duck Brand Window Kit and tried it right away. The instructions were easy to follow and within minutes, I’d covered my first window. I just cleaned the window frame, then rolled out and applied the double-sided tape.
We unrolled the window covering and stuck it to the tape.
Then we used a hair dryer to shrink the cover into place. It was so easy!
The Duck Brand Heavy Duty Max Strength Roll-On Window Kit covered three windows, so I started with the windows in our family room. We spend more time together in the family room than any other room and I notice the drafts most often there. After only a few minutes, I was able to install the window covering on all of the family room windows.
As I walked from the family room windows to the kitchen windows, I could already tell a difference. The kitchen windows still let in a chilly draft while the covered windows were completely sealed off.
I’m thrilled about how well the window kits work and have already order more kits for the other windows. We’re already enjoying how warm and cozy the family room is and my husband and I are looking forward to seeing how much money we save on our energy bills as well.
Winter weather is coming and for the first time, we’ll have windows that finally block drafts are air leaks around our windows. Duck Brand heavy-duty window kits have created that added barrier we needed between the frigid outside air and our warm interior air.
Because the window covering is made with puncture-resistant film, it’s stronger than standard window kits, which is perfect for our high-traffic home full of kids and pets. The clear shrink film was almost invisible on the window so we’ll still be able to enjoy the beautiful outdoor views from our windows. When it warms up again, we can easily remove the covering when it’s not needed during spring.
I’m already thrilled with how the Duck Max Strength Roll-On Window Kit is working on our windows. We’re planning to check out the other Duck Brand weatherization products to see if there are other ways to help us keep our house more comfortable and energy efficient all year long.
Designed to fit around different windows in your home, Duck® Brand Window Kits have all you need to block drafts and air leaks that can lead to high heating costs during cold weather months. Be sure to check out Duck Brand Window Kits at Walmartfor your home.
