I’m always a fan of shortcuts that make life a little bit easier, aren’t you?
Here’s a fun kitchen shortcut that we love to use in our family.
Pre-sliced apples!
Instead of the kids only eating tiny bites of their lunch apple, or them having to eat browned apple slices, I send apples in their lunchbox like this.
Kitchen Hack – Pre-sliced Apples
Slice the apple into sections.
Piece the slices back together to make the apple whole.
Use a thick rubber-band (narrow ones roll off) to hold the slices in place until ready to eat.
That’s it! Super easy and perfect for lunchboxes, picnics or a juicy snack at the office.
What kitchen hacks do you love?

Neat idea! I used to slice up the apples for my daughter’s lunch box and then float them in Sprite or 7Up to keep them from browning.

I love that they make pot-sized pasta! And really love the apple shortcut. Do you need to use lemon juice, to keep the slices from browning?
Joan says
Where do you find this brand? I have never seen it.. I live in the west, I know different areas
of the US carry different brands. This would be great not to have to break it up, you always end up with little pieces all over the stove and cupboard as they pop off when breaking them in half.

I bought mine at Walmart. 🙂

I must say the apple sliced already is an exellent idea. I think my greeat nephew takes an apple and takes just a bite or two from it and leaves it or throws it back in his lunchbag. He would like this having it sliced like they do at home.

Gosh look at all the time I can save by buying this pot size pasta from the time it takes to break regular pasta, to cleaning up the floor and the counter from the pieces that fly all over when breaking, and I think it is a wonderful idea, now if the bread makers would come up with half size loaves of bread I would be happy. I love the apple idea, have never heard of it, but I agree brown apples are gunky will try this with granddaughter

Your presliced apple idea is brilliant! I am doing that with my son!
Alicia K says
love the presliced apple! Great idea to save some time during the day
Rosie says
For the pasta, you can also add in the time savings for not having to clean up all the broken spagetti’s that landed on the floor! I like the apple idea, I often have apples that end up wrinkling up because the only way I eat them is slicing them first, and just don’t have the time at the moment I would have them! I never thought of that!
