I was especially excited to see that the line includes footwear as well. It is a rite of passage for so many kids to learn to put on their own shoes, but for some children and adults, putting shoes on can be a struggle. Zappos offers footwear with alternative closures such as hook and loop, slip-on, and bungee, so that they do not have to worry with laces, which may be difficult to hold and tie.
My niece wears orthotics on her ankles and her mom has had a difficult time finding shoes and pants that look like everyone else in her school wears that fit over her braces. The older she gets the more she wants to be able to dress like her friends, but hasn’t always been able to find shoes that work.
I was delighted to get her a pair of shoes that are orthotic-friendly so they fit over her AFO, but are the same brand, style, and even colors as the ones that her friends wear!
