When my husband and I built our house we had one toddler with another baby on the way. We set up two little bedrooms with little beds and little furniture for our very little girls.
Now it’s almost 7 years later and the girls have outgrown their child-sized furniture. The adorable dressers that were so cute in toddlers’ rooms are much too small for my girls’ clothes. The bookcases are too short and are overflowing with their books.
So when I was given the chance to choose a piece of furniture from Sauder, I immediately knew I needed something for my younger daughter’s room. I didn’t have a lot of specifications – I just wanted white, pretty and bigger than the piece she’d outgrown.
I headed to Sauder.com to see if I could find adorable storage for a child’s room. It turned out to be an easy search.
Immediately, I found that I could search by space, by product or by collection.
I browsed the bedroom and office spaces, but still wasn’t sure which piece would be best.
So I decided to search by product.
I clicked on ‘Shelves & Organization” and immediately saw a huge selection of wonderful shelves, cases and organizational pieces.
In order to narrow down my search, I selected “Bookcases” and “White” to see exactly what I was looking for.
I zeroed right in on the “5-Shelf Bookcase”. Nice and tall, with plenty room for my daughter’s books. White, so it matches her decor, and a neutral design style that will fit right in with her other furniture.
Perfect!
I added the bookcase to my cart and within minutes my order was complete. I couldn’t wait to share the new bookcase with my daughter!
This a photo of the bookcase I ordered:
And this is how it looked when I put ours together:
And with my daughter’s books and favorite stuffed animals:
We love it!
It’s the perfect size for my daughter’s small room, but adds so much great storage for her books and stuffed animals.
It was so easy to put together too! The entire bookcase was 12 pieces – 2 along the left side, 2 along the right, 2 across the back and all of the shelves from top to bottom.
My younger daughter helped me put it together and we had the entire thing assembled in less than 30 minutes.
There are three adjustable shelves on the bookcase, so we’ll be able to move them up and down depending on what we want to store on it. My daughter has some cute little white baskets that we may eventually add to one of the shelves to keep her little knick-knacks in, so I love that we can adjust the shelf heights however we want.
Fun challenge!
I’ve been challenged to see how I can use this piece in two other ways, so I’ll be back to share those with you. I’ve already toyed with office organization and living room storage, so I’ve got some great ideas about how I can use this bookcase other places. Such great ideas, in fact, that I’m already tempted to order 2 more bookcases and use them for those exact purposes! 🙂
Stay tuned to see how the challenge turns out!
