There’s another blog that I come across from time to time with a name like “What’s That Smell?”. It makes me laugh when I see it because it pretty much sums up being a mom some days. With three small children and two cats (and one husband), it’s not unusual to notice an unpleasant smell sometimes in the house. I try to keep the house looking and smelling nice, but that doesn’t always happen. Between the kitty litter, spills, accidents, diapers and other things, the house often doesn’t smell as nice as I’d like.
That’s why I love air fresheners. I like to use one scent downstairs in the main rooms and a different upstairs. This time of year, I love something clean and fresh, like the windows are open. Upstairs, I like to use a scent that’s calming and (I think) will help everyone relax and sleep well. We’re in the middle of Spring cleaning right now, so while the house looks a bit messy with everything pulled out, I still want everything smelling nice.
I headed to WalMart yesterday to pick up some more scents for the downstairs. There was a huge selection of air fresheners, but the prices weren’t all in the same range. A lot of the other plug-in air fresheners were priced $1 or more higher than the Air Wicks, so the choice was easy.
I chose the double pack of the Air Wick Scented Oil Warmers. Only $1.62 for two warmers!
Next I looked at the different scents. There were a lot of different scents to choose from. Luckily, the boxes had little scratch-n-sniff stickers on them.
I smelled all of the scents and narrowed it down to three: Apple Cinnamon Medley, Fresh Waters and Magnolia & Cherry Blossom. I finally chose the Fresh Water scent, thinking the Apple Cinnamon was more Christmasy and the Magnolia & Cherry Blossom was too pink in color.
I bought the double pack of Air Wick Plug In Scented Oil Warmers, the double pack of Fresh Water scented oil and added the Fresh Water Air Wick candle too. The Scented Oil Warmers were easy to set up, just take the top off of the oil jar, slide the jar up into the warmer until you hear a click, then plug in.
Here is my new Air Wick Scented Oil Warmer plugged in in our family room. I could smell the nice scent almost immediately.
Next, I added the Air Wick Fresh Water Candle to the Built-Ins. Here’s a close up of it on the shelf:
I like the frosted glass. It’s pretty, but not too eye-catching. I really want it for the scent, not for appearance so I’m glad it’s a muted look. Here’s how it looks from the room:
I think it looks nice! I’m enjoying the Fresh Water scent as I work on this post. It’s a great scent and I’ll definitely be buying more of it from Air Wick.
