When my husband and I built our house, there were some things that were “must haves” in the new home. We wanted to live on a cul-de-sac and have a nice back yard for the kids to play in. There would need to be a playroom for the kids and an office for the adults. We went over every room and feature that we thought we could possibly want in a home for our family.
Looking back now, I think we got it almost right. There are so many things that I love about the house and I haven’t regretted any of the decisions we made. But now that we have three kids who are a little more independent, there is one thing I’d change.
I would love to remodel the kitchen.
The kitchen that we built is great – with plenty of counter space, storage cabinets, and even 2 huge pantries. It’s got beautiful cherry cabinets, a large island, and stainless appliances.
But I want something different now.
I’d love to have a more open kitchen that’s full of light and space. I’d update and change the kitchen cabinets around to add more windows and would reduce the size of the island for more open floor area. And while I’m at it, I’d love to change the cabinets color out to something lighter and brighter too.
