As adults we know different things we should and should not do for safety – but how do we teach our children without scaring them, or worse yet them having to get hurt learning on their own? By making the learning FUN of course!
From the makers of Dumb Ways To Die – A PSA that explains safety around trains that explains how making poor choices can lead to some very bad consequences – comes two new child friendly apps – “Dumb Ways JR Loopy’s Train Set” and “Dumb Ways JR Boffo’s Breakfast.“ Dumb Ways Jr is aimed towards children ages 3-7 that offer friendly safety education without the harsh images or scary scenarios.
Before the Dumb Ways characters grew up, they were already exploring all sorts of places – kitchens, planes and of course, trains! Explore their world through the global early years play-based learning platform that will help the youngest kids learn about the world while having fun. Be one of the first families to explore the world of Dumb Ways JR.
My daughters absolutely love Dumb Ways to Die. (So much so, in fact, that I could sing the entire theme song for you right now if you wanted.) It’s a great app with a really important message, so I was excited to have the opportunity to team up with Dumb Ways Jr and The Motherhood to check out their new apps with my kids.
Although the girls play Dumb Ways to Die, my son is still a little young for it, so I was curious to see what he thought of Boffo and Loopy. The fun, interactive new apps feature the younger version of the characters my girls love and it wasn’t long before Boffo and Loopy were my son’s favorites too.
Dumb Ways JR Boffo’s Breakfast let’s your child be Boffo’s personal chef to create something delicious – or not so delicious – for Boffo to eat! Your child can choose ingredients, slice them up, stir, cook, and serve their meal to Boffo to see his reaction! My son laughed and laughed at some of the faces Boffo makes when served something not very tasty. While your child is having fun and playing, he is also learning about important safety aspects of a kitchen – such as heat getting too high on a stove cooktop.
Dumb Ways JR Loopy’s Train Set was an instant favorite with my son’s love for trains! There are two different modes for play – Drive or Build. In drive mode you child can drive Loopy’s train around a pre-built track while helping passengers board and exit the train, choosing the speed of the train, and other safety precautions. In build mode you can create your own train track using different size and shaped pieces of track, as well as other fun items such as houses and trees. Once their track is built they can drive their train!
Both Dumb Ways Jr Apps are 100% child friendly so I can have the peace of mind that they are viewing safe, age appropriate material even as they learn about important life lessons. The apps keep my kids engaged because they are challenging but entertaining. The characters are easy to fall in love with and will keep your kids laughing. Both apps are available from the Apple Store (Boffo’s Breakfast & Loopy’s Train Set) and Google Play (Boffo’s Breakfast & Loopy’s Train Set), and be sure to also check out their Facebook Page and follow them on Instagram.
