When my husband and I started having kids, we talked about keeping some of our favorite traditions from growing up and also creating some new ones of our own. With some holidays, we’ve compromised or combined our favorite traditions because they weren’t the same. For Easter, though, we had almost exactly the same memories of Easter growing up. Both families did a lot of activities at Easter and we’re having a great time doing the same with our children.
First we dye eggs with a PAAS Dye Kit. We dye a LOT of eggs. This year we did 2 dozen last weekend and will do another 2 tomorrow. The kids have so much fun coloring on the eggs, using stickers and making crazy color combinations. We used Heinz White Vinegar this year with our PAAS egg-dyeing kit to make the colors really bright.
Here are some photos of the kids dyeing eggs with the PAAS kit and Heinz White Vinegar:
Once all of the eggs are dyed (we keep last weekend’s in the fridge so they don’t go bad), we’ll have a huge Easter Egg Hunt. I like to combine the decorated eggs we made with the plastic ones. Some of the plastic eggs will have small goodies inside and some won’t, but the big prizes go to those who find the PAAS dyed eggs. I have a little basket of stickers, temporary tattoos, tiny coloring books and small toys that the kids can turn in their dyes eggs for. The kids have a great time and get especially excited when they find eggs they dyed themselves.
Here are a few pictures of the finished eggs we’ve made so far. I love the beautiful, bright colors!
Easter Fun – Digital Egg Design
This year, PAAS has started something really cool that everyone with kids should check out. They’ve released a cute little app that lets you decorate eggs digitally. You can choose the color dye and even add glitter glue, chalk and paint designs. When you’re finished, display in the digital stand. It’s a really cute app and lots of fun for kids to begin planning their egg designs on. Plus, for every egg “dyed” on the app, Heinz & PAAS are going to donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation! Be sure to dye some eggs here at the Decorator App, have some fun and help the Make-A-Wish Foundation all at the same time!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Heinz and PAAS and received a Heinz Vinegar bottle, a PAAS Egg Dyeing Kit, and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
