Easy Snacks for Kids
When my kids were toddlers, I planned every meal and every snack on a schedule. We didn’t interrupt naptimes or bedtime and the kids seemed to do better on a schedule so I fed them on a strict schedule.
Now that the kids are older, all of that has gone out the window. Between sports practices and games, after-school clubs, and other activities, a set schedule is impossible to have. I’ve adopted more of a “go with the flow” type of attitude with our days lately.
To make sure that we always have something that’s easy to make for the kids, I stock up on groceries. I’ve always got our favorite meal ingredients in the fridge, and I’ve always got our favorite snacks in the pantry.
Some of the kids’ favorite snacks are the same snacks I loved as a child. They’re just as delicious as I remember, and I love not having to listen to complaints about having “nothing to eat”.
We keep snack baskets in the pantry full of snacks the kids love. They can grab something when they’re heading out the door to a sports practice or when they want something to snack on while they do homework.
Of course, some of the all-time favorites are probably your favorites too – RITZ, OREOs, and CHIPS Ahoy!.
With three growing kids, it’s hard enough to keep the foods we love in stock, so I love to buy in bulk when I can. We have started buying the family size packages at Walmart for just that reason. I like to bag individual portions for the snack baskets so the kids grab the exact amount I want them to have.
