We went to Busch Gardens Christmas Town for the third time recently. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Christmas Town, it’s a wonderful, magical holiday creation that happens every year at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
The entire park is decorated, from before you even step through the entrance to every part of the park.
It is absolutely beautiful!
There are over 8 million lights throughout the park and the result is spectacular. From the different countries decorated in their own colors to lights shining even on trees back through the distant woods, it’s such a pretty sight at nighttime.
One of our favorite things to do at Christmas Town is to take the Skyride a couple of times just to enjoy the lights everywhere below us. There are so many pretty areas to take in, we never seem to be able to see it all.
Of course, Christmas Town at Busch Gardens isn’t just about Christmas – there are rides too!
One of our kids’ favorite rides is the Peppermint Twist.
It was chilly out, so we all got mugs of Peppermint and Ghiradelli hot chocolate to help us stay warm. Then we headed over to another favorite – the Ice Palace.
The kids love to run around and try to catch the fake snowflakes that fall every year in front of the palace.
Of course we couldn’t leave Christmas Town without visiting Santa!
The kids got to sit and chat with Santa Claus, tell him what they wanted for Christmas, and take pictures with him. They look forward to seeing him at Christmas Town every year, so it makes a wonderful day even more special.
Before we headed out for the night, we enjoyed seeing the enormous Christmas Tree all lit up for the season, and then stopped to listen to carolers sing for a few minutes.
It was a magical ending to another wonderful year at Busch Gardens Christmas Town!
