I’m not a very good health food eater. Don’t get me wrong – I eat healthy foods most of the time. I’m just not always happy about it.
I’d love to be one of those people who actually craves kale chips and kelp noodles (assuming those people actually exist), but I’m seriously not. I have to make the conscious decision to eat foods that are good for me instead of the ones I’d rather have.
And that’s a lot easier when those healthy foods are easily accessible. Instead of relying on the convenience of packaged snacks and foods, I try to make sure there is always something healthy ready to eat anytime I get hungry. The summer is a great time for moving more and eating lighter, so I’m making sure I always have delicious produce available.
When I have fresh berries washed and waiting in the fridge for snack time, I’ll always reach for them.
If there are fresh, crisp greens washed and ready to make a salad for lunch, I’m all over it.
The “fresh” part is really important, of course. If I even suspect that my produce isn’t fresh, I won’t eat it. Nothing shuts down my interest in healthy food faster than a slimy strawberry or wilted, brown lettuce.
I’ve got to keep my produce fresh.
That’s why I use Rubbermaid FreshWorks™ Produce Saver containers. (I actually tested the containers out on strawberries a few weeks ago. You can see the difference here in how long the berries stayed fresh in FreshWorks compared to the ones in the store container.)
I don’t have to worry that my blueberries might go bad only a few days after buying them.
Rubbermaid FreshWorks™ Produce Saver food storage containers use a revolutionary FreshVent™ technology to naturally regulate the flow of O2 and CO2, which creates the optimal environment for keeping produce fresh. The CrispTray™ inside each FreshWorks container elevates produce away from moisture and promoted proper airflow to help prevent spoilage.
That means that FreshWorks Produce Savers can keep produce fresh up to 80% longer then store packaging.
