Our family loves Busch Gardens this time of year for Howl-O-Scream!
.
We have young children, and we all love roaming this beautiful park looking at different displays for the Halloween season. They have creepy and funny monsters around every corner. The paths and bridges are all decorated for the season.
.
.
Our kids like posing for photos with the creepy figures, as if they were running away from them in fear or fighting them. It is all in good fun at Busch Gardens, as always. Some of the Halloween decorations gave us goosebumps, and some of them made us laugh.
.
We debated amongst our family about the different shows: “Fiends,” “Monsters Stomp on Riper Road,” and “Night Beats.” We decided on the “Fiends” show, and we all enjoyed it very much. This show had a Doctor Frankenstein feel to it with songs and lots of fun.

We had a great time letting the kids ride rides and enjoy the park until about 6 p.m., when the scarier parts start. When our kids all get a little bit older, we’re going to enjoy the full day with “Demon Street,” “Riper Row,” “Ports of Skull,” “Vampire Point,” and “Wendigo Woods.” These “Terror-Tories” looked eerily fun and we will do this through the years, I’m sure.
.
We’re looking forward to the scares of all of the haunted houses, too, like Catacombs, Bitten, Cornered, and especially the new Uneathed – Scarlett’s Revenge. Unearther comes from the mind of Robin Cowie, the producer of
“The Blair Witch Project” and is an especially frightening new house. Scarlett, an angry demon, summons terrifying creatures to help her in her quest for revenge. We can’t wait to see this one!
.
.
This year between the amazing show and the rides we always enjoy throughout Busch Garden Williamsburg, we found time for a great meal at the “Blood Banquet,” an all you can eat buffet. My husband and I grabbed one drink between rides as well. “Pirate Baarrgh,” “The Open CASKet,” or “Scarlett’s Square” are Spirit Bars, which are some of many fun areas that Busch Gardens creates to make the park seem like the world’s biggest Halloween party.
..
Leaving Busch Gardens is always bittersweet. On the way out we walked again through creepy England decorated with a headless horseman and body parts hanging in a trellis, which the kids all thought was hilarious.
.
We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to do it again next year!
