My husband and I agreed fairly early on that we wanted to have three children.
We each have two siblings and found that the family dynamic was something we hoped to create within our own family, so we hoped for 3 kids. Thankfully, here we are 9 years later with three kids – 2 girls and a boy.
The kids get along as well as most siblings, meaning they love to push each other’s buttons and pick on each other when they’re cranky, but for the most part, they love to play together. They love to be creative and will play as a group or play as a pair when a sibling wants some alone time.
One of the kids’ favorite toys is LEGO® bricks. We have dozens of boxes and sets in all sorts of designs and age ranges. But it’s always the girls playing with them. They put intricate LEGO® sets together while their little brother watches.
My son tries to help and wants to be included, but is just too little to follow the directions. Even when my husband or I try to help my son, he gets frustrated when he has a hard time putting the LEGO® sets together.
So I was thrilled to hear about LEGO® JUNIORS.
LEGO® JUNIORS were specifically designed for kids just like my son.
For children ages 4-7, LEGO® JUNIORS are a great first experience with LEGO bricks. The sets have pre-numbered bags, including quick-start elements, making it easy for younger kids to get started building on their own.
Children can build LEGO® Juniors sets with help from Mom and Dad, or can build the models on their own. The instruction booklets contain large, colorful photos that make it easy for younger children to see where each piece goes.
I loved seeing how easily my son was able to use the LEGO® Juniors. Instead of getting frustrated and giving up, he wanted to go through the entire instruction book in one sitting. He couldn’t get enough!
Not only are LEGO® JUNIORS the perfect size and difficulty level for my young son, but they even come in Marvel Superhero sets! My son could not wait to get started putting his new set together. Even as he built the pieces, I could see him using his imagination as he started to move the characters through different superhero plots.
But he’s not the only one who gets to enjoy superheroes, because the Marvel Superhero sets are available in older age ranges too! The girls loved being able to put their own set together, with more complicated pieces and the same fun superhero theme.
Not only were my kids having fun, they were clearly proud of being able to build the sets by themselves. It was such a joy for this Mom to see!
My children are gaining confidence in their ability to build sets according to instructions and to bring the creations to life. It’s a wonderful way to help guide and develop their confidence, imagination and building skills.
LEGO offers three different age-appropriate superhero product lines for kids of all ages to enjoy. Whether the child is new to building with LEGO bricks or a confident builder, there is something for every age and stage. LEGO® Super Heroes is a wonderful way to introduce children to the land of make-believe and open-ended play.
