I don’t love car shopping.
It’s hard to know whether or not you’re getting a good deal when you know the car dealer is starting much higher than they have to. The car salesperson wants to make a huge profit and I want to get a great deal. One of us is not going to get our way.
In the past, the car dealerships held all the power. I could try to negotiate a little, but really had no way of knowing if I could get that same car for less.
But now I have the power. When I see a car I want, I just go on Cars.com and search for it.
I’ll find all the cars for sale, new or used, in my region. I can search farther away if I want, or narrow it down to local dealers. When I get the results, I can compare the different features and asking prices of all the different models.
That gives me the power. I can negotiate with one based on the information I have on the others.
Cars.com – an easier, better way to shop for a car.
