A few months ago, I shared with you a fun challenge that I’d accepted. To find a piece of furniture that I could transform several different ways, making three different uses from just one furniture piece.
I chose the 5 Shelf Bookcase in white from Sauder.
Initially, I chose it for my daughter’s room, to use as a bookcase and display case. She doesn’t have a lot of storage space and has hundreds of books, so I knew we’d get great use out of a tall bookcase.
I let her add a few of her favorite stuffed animals and the result was adorable!
Once the bookcase arrived and was easily put together, I knew I’d chosen the perfect piece of furniture for the challenge.
I immediately started thinking of other great places I could use a bookcase like this. The style is clean and nice looking enough to work almost anywhere and the simple style allows it to be dressed up or used casually.
My next use for the bookcase was as a built-in type set of shelves in the living room. I could add a few more of the same bookcase side by side and have a gorgeous wall of display shelves across the side of the living room.
The last use for the bookcase was so great, I decided immediately to order another bookshelf and make it a reality – for shelves in my home office.
Instead of cramming and stacking all of my office supplies onto corners of my desk, I suddenly had plenty of room. Room for my documents, my planners and folders, and for pretty little knick-knacks that make my office look so much nicer.
I love the result!
