Seems like this time of year the kids are being inundated with sugary, low nutrient snacks. While I love candy corn as much as the next girl, I prefer to have healthier snacks for the kids when they come home from school. Wanting to stay in the Halloween Spirit though, I decided to make these full Halloween themed parfaits, using our favorite Greek yogurt.
Last week before carpool I ran in to Walmart to get what we needed for our Halloween theme Parfaits. I can get all of our favorite Yoplait at Walmart – from theme Fridgepacks to Go Gurts and my favorite indulgence the Greek Whips. For the parfaits I wanted to keep it simple, delicious, and nutritious – so I went with the Yoplait Greek 100 in vanilla and orange cream. I also grabbed chocolate sandwich cookies and whipped cream to top it off.
I added a couple drops of food coloring to the Yoplait Greek 100 to make the colors really pop, and then layered the ingredients in these awesome vintage ice cream glasses. The orange cream and vanilla were delicious together – it reminded me of the orange push pops we grew up on. The kids were super excited to try them out – they were almost too cute to eat!
Halloween Theme Parfaits
Ingredients:
Yoplait Greek 100 in your favorite flavors
Chocolate Sandwich cookies – approx. 6 per parfait
Whipped Cream
Food Coloring
Directions:
Begin by removing the cream filling from your chocolate sandwich cookies and crushing the cookies into bite size bits.
Add red and yellow food coloring to yogurt until desired color is reached.
Layer yogurt colors and cookies and top with whipped cream!
Enjoy!
I love feeding the kids Yoplait Greek 100 because each container packs a whopping 13 grams of protein! You aren’t going to find that in any of those sugary candies. The best part though – Yoplait tastes so good, the kids do not even realize they are eatingsomething that is so healthy for them. I call that a Mom Win.
