A couple of months ago, my younger daughter went to a birthday party at a local children’s gym called The Little Gym. She had such a great time that told me on the way home that she wanted her next birthday party there. Since she’s been known in the past to change her mind easily and often about birthday parties (“Hello Kitty!….no, My Little Pony?….no, wait, Princesses!….), I thought I’d wait until closer to her birthday to make a final decision.
She didn’t changed her mind this time. She’s been talking about My Little Gym now for over two months and can not wait to have a birthday party there. So that’s what we’re going to do!
You’ve heard me talk about how much work I used to put into a “small” at home birthday party. I’d envision baking some cupcakes and having a few activities for the kids…easy peasy! But that’s never what happened. I’d end up making food for the kids and the adults, having different selections of drinks for the kids and adults, having planned activities scheduled throughout the entire party, props and materials for the activities, baking and decorating cupcakes, hanging decorations, packing goody bags, cleaning the house, making the lawn look nice, etc., etc., etc. By the time all of our home parties were over, I’d spent a lot of money, effort and time working and not a lot of time enjoying.
I’m looking forward to spending time with my daughter at her Little Gym party and not doing much else. 🙂
I’ll be back in a couple of weeks with lots of pictures to share. Stay tuned!

I think we actually have one of these where I live. I need to look into it. Looks like a lot of fun for the kiddos. Looking forward to seeing your pics in future posts.

We love TLG! We had our older son’s party there a few years ago and he still says that was one of the best parties he ever had. The staff is great and they make sure the kids feel like superstars! I can wait for our little one to get old enough to really enjoy going there! Hope you have a fantastic party!

What a great idea for a party – so much easier than having one at home!
