Pineapple Twinkie Delight Recipe
.
Ingredients
.
10 Hostess Twinkies
1 can (20 oz) Crushed Pineapple, drained with juice reserved
2 pkgs Vanilla Instant Pudding
3 cups cold milk
1 large tub of Cool Whip
Optional – chopped walnuts or pecans, maraschino cherries
.
Directions
.
1. Slice all 10 of the Twinkies lengthwise through the bottom. Place the twinkies across the bottom of your dish with the cream side facing up.
2. Mix 2 1/2 cups of cold milk with one packet of instant vanilla pudding. Whisk until thick and then pour over the top of the Twinkies.
3. Smooth the vanilla pudding across the dish, filling in all open spaces between and around the Twinkies.
4. Spread the crushed pineapple (drain the juice into a cup first!) across the pudding layer.
5. Mix the pineapple juice and 1/2 cup cold milk into the remaining packet of vanilla pudding. Whisk until mixed and add 2/3 cup of Cool Whip. Fold Cool Whip into the pudding mix, then spread over the top of the pineapple layer.
6. Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the top. Garnish with chopped nuts and maraschino cherries if desired.
7. Place cake in refrigerator and chill for several hours until pudding layers are firm. Cut into pieces and serve.
Enjoy!
