Stress happens.
No matter how organized, how successful and how happy you are, stress still happens from time to time. The important thing is not whether you get stressed, but how you handle the stress when it comes.
Here are some great ways to relieve stress:
1. Go for a walk. The fresh air and time to think will give you a chance to get a better perspective on the situation.
2. Read a book. Lose yourself in a good book and take your mind off of the stressful situation for a while.
3. Breathe. Take a quiet, 5-minute break and just breathe. Close your eyes, inhale slowly through your nose and out through your mouth. Focus on calming down and relaxing your body.
4. Take a bath. Pamper yourself with bubble bath or bath salts, light a few candles and listen to music or read a book while relaxing in a warm bath. Give yourself a long, quiet break and work on calming your body as well as your mind.
5. Laugh out loud. Watch some favorite old sit-coms, rent a funny movie or watch some hilarious comedians online. Laughing lowers your body’s stress hormone and boosts endorphins, helping to lift your mood.
