Do you ever wonder what other people smell when they walk into your house?
You walk in and out of your house, clean after the pets and the kids, and do your best to make sure that the house smells clean. But did you know that you may actually be what’s called to the smell?
I recently got to test the theory with a few girlfriends. They came over to hang out for a couple of hours and catch up on a few episodes of OITNB. While they were here, they were asked to take surveys throughout the evening.
When they first arrived, they could smell different scents in our home, including some I didn’t realize were still in the air. Two of my friends could smell the veggie dogs I’d cooked for the kids earlier in the evening and the other smelled something she said she couldn’t place (or didn’t want to insult us by naming?).
Shortly after they arrived, we popped some popcorn and hung out, watching OITNB and catching up.
My friends took a second survey after the popcorn was popped, and then a third after we’d finished watching the episodes of our show.
It was interesting to realize how there are scents in our house that we don’t realize that we’ve become “noseblind” to. We smelled the popcorn after it was popped, of course, but a couple of hours later didn’t really realize how much the smell was still in the area until everyone took the survey. We realized that we had gotten so used to the smell of popcorn that we were “noseblind” to it.
That makes you wonder about all of those odors you think you’ve gotten rid of in your home. Are you just getting noseblind to the smells? Do you visitors still smell them?
It was time to get rid of the popcorn smell for good. So I got out the Febreze,
I sprayed the rooms throughout the downstairs with Febreze Air Effects to help eliminate the popcorn smell. Then I plugged in the Febreze Noticeables to give the den a pleasant and long-lasting scent to the house.
The mixture of Hibiscus and Rain Forest scents in the Febreze Noticeables was amazing. It’s definitely one of my favorite plug-in scents ever.
Finally, I lit the Febreze Meadows & Rain Candle for a nice, light scent in our family room. It made the room smell fresh and clean and is now a favorite scent of mine. I’ve been lighting the candle at my desk in the afternoons and love having such a nice scent in the air while I work.
Make sure you’re not experiencing noseblindness in your home! Use Febreze Noticeables, Air and Fabric Refreshers and Candles.
