1. Locate a Mobility Equipment Dealer. The Dealer will evaluate your exact needs and advise you on the proper equipment.
2. Consult a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist. If you want to drive independently, a CDRS will list the exact equipment necessary for you and your vehicle.
3. Make a Final Selection and Purchase. Either buy directly from an NMEDA Dealer or use the recommended vehicle guidelines set by a NMEDA representative and CDRS to have another vehicle adapted..
4. Training on Your New Mobility Equipment. Your CDRS will assist you in learning to use your newly adapted vehicle and mobility equipment.
5. Mobility Reimbursements. Be sure to submit your Mobility Assistance Reimbursement Application to the vehicle manufacturer. Visit that vehicle manufacturer’s website for the correct forms.
