When I had my first baby, I did a lot of research on strollers. I looked online, in big chain stores and in small boutiques. I read reviews, spoke to salespeople and polled my friends and family.
I ended up choosing a stroller that I thought we’d be happy with. It had all of the features we wanted and was nice-looking too.
But what I didn’t consider was how that stroller would work once my tiny little baby grew.
As she got older, her stroller didn’t fit quite as well. The great traction and smooth ride wasn’t nearly as nice once she grew older and gained weight.
I needed a better stroller. One that had the features we liked in a size that fit my growing child. But it seemed like most of the strollers I looked at were either umbrella strollers or huge, bulky, heavy full size strollers.
So when I heard about the Armadillo, I had to give it a try.
.
.
The Armadillo Stroller from Mamas & Papas was created to give exactly what we needed. A stroller that is roomy and comfortable for my child without being bulky and difficult to fold, carry and store.
All the big features that I love in a surprisingly compact stroller. The Armadillo – a big little stroller.
.
.
The Armadillo looks like a full size stroller, so I knew it would be great for my toddler. Once he climbed in, though, it was even more obvious just how roomy the stroller seat is. My son has plenty of room to get comfortable, and with the adjustable leg rest, he can stretch out or relax however he wants.
.
.
When my son wants to lie down and rest, the seat reclines almost fully, so he can really get comfortable to sleep. There’s an easy-to-use one-hand lever on the back of the seat that reclines the seat and then a strap is used to put the seat back up.
.
.
The fabric on the Armadillo is a durable and strong, but still soft to the touch. We have the Lemon Drop color, which is a gorgeous and cheery yellow, but I initially wondered if it would show dirt easily. The fabric has been easy to clean, though, and the color and material look just as good as new. If we ever do have a serious spill or splash, the entire seat cover is removable for washing, so I am confident the stroller will look great for a long time.
The hood canopy over the top of the Armadillo stroller is huge. It’s large enough to provide great cover from too much sun, from the rain and from too much wind. It’s much larger than any other hood we’ve had before and I love it. The peek-a-boo window in the hood allowed me to check on my son as we walked, and with the magnet closure I can open and close it without sound. Our old stroller had velcro, so I never used it because I didn’t want to wake up my sleeping child with the noise.

THE FOLD
I don’t know how many strollers I’ve tried that claimed to be “easy fold”, but really weren’t. They required several different steps with buttons pushed, levers pulled and then had to be lifted up and popped into place. Some were easier than others, but I never really thought any of them were actually easy to fold.
The Armadillo is an honest-to-goodness ONE-handed easy fold stroller. I just turn the handle forward to unlock the stroller and push the top of the stroller forward. The stroller folds forward and I can grab the carry handle and pick the stroller up, folded, locked and ready for carrying or storage.
When I’m ready to open the Armadillo stroller again, I just open the lock on the side, pick up the handle and let the stroller unfold and open below.
Check out how simple it is in my little video:
.
.
There are a lot of great features on the Armadillo that I really appreciated once I started using it. For instance, I love that the Armadillo has small rubber stoppers to keep it from bumping or scratching things when folded. It makes perfect sense and is just a small addition, but one that most strollers don’t have. I really like not having to worry about scratching anything when I set the stroller down.
Also, the basket under the Armadillo is roomy and wide, so I can add a lot of gear and/or shopping purchases. It’s accessible from all sides, so it’s much more convenient that other baskets I’ve seen on strollers.
The Armadillo has a five-point harness with adjustable height setting, chest and crotch pad for safety and comfort.
.
.
The stroller has lockable front swivel wheels for stability on uneven terrain and is easy to steer and maneuver, even with one hand. The Armadillo has a “flip-flop friendly” brake that can be pushed down then released by pushing easily back up with just a toe.
The Armadillo is adaptable with popular infant car seat brands to convert to a travel system.

What a nice stroller. I love how easily it folds up!
That is such a nice stroller. I love strollers that make my life easier and this one definitely fits that description!
I like that great canopy, especially for the lousy months of the year. The one hand fold is positively fantastic too!
That is amazing. Comfy and easy to use.
My son is 16 so no more strollers for me! I do wish they had this when he was a baby, those strollers were hard to maneuver and folding them was a task!
I wish there had been strollers like this when my kids were using them! The ones I had were so big and bulky and hard to use.
that looks like a great stroller. I’d love to use one like that when I walk with my friend Cyndi.
Cute stroller! This looks easy but sturdy, you know what I mean. The easy fold function is space saving too.
Looks like a great stroller! I love the color.
The easy fold has me sold on it! When my girls were little, I had a heck of a time trying to fold their strollers every. single. time! I hated using them because I knew I was going to get stressed out when it came time to fold it back up!
What a fabulous stroller!
Easy to fold strollers are the BEST! I usually only have one hand to work with and I need things to be as easy and fast as possible.
LOVE the clear canopy to easily see the child. That is a nice perk. Of course, since moms usually need about 3 extra hands having a stroller you can fold with just one is genius!
I’m kind of sad that we are getting out of the stroller days. I love the bright yellow, and the easy fold! We have double strollers so they are a bit bulky but I LOVE easy to use and compact!
it’ has a great sleek look. I’m not in the market for a stroller anymore but love the Mamas and Papas brand
Finally a shade that’s a shade!!! Now THAT’S my kind of stroller. It’s sharp looking too!
Thats so cute. A stroller with a sun roof. I like that pop of yellow color too.
Can uI just say how cute the yellow color is? I love the 1 handed fold!
What a cool stroller! Folding up a stroller is one of the most infuriating things in the world!
This stroller looks awesome. I love the size of it.
I love this stroller! We are just about over the stroller stage with our girls!
I love this stroller! It looks like it makes folding and storing really easy!
A good stroller is SO important when you have a little one! I wish I would have heard of this brand when my daughter was little!
What an awesome, sleek stroller. I love it! I love the color too
I totally need one of these. I would love to get one for my toddler it would make my life so much easier. Thanks for sharing I will be looking into this.
Such a nice stroller. What a great baby gift this stroller would make. I sure wish they had these years ago!
