Have you ever thought you were doing just fine without a tech product, but then once you’ve used the product for a while you wonder how you ever survived without it? That’s how we feel about our new Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Refrigerator.
Well, I’m sure I could survive without it. But I don’t want to.
Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Refrigerator
In our family, the kitchen is the center of our home. Whether the kids are doing homework, working on craft projects, or helping me prepare a meal, it seems like we’re almost always in the kitchen. It’s the one room in our home where we come together to spend time with each other on a daily basis.
So the addition of our new Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Refrigerator has caused quite a bit of excitement. We have been using it for several weeks now and absolutely love it – because it’s not just a typical fridge. The Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Refrigerator is so, so much more.
Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Family Connection
Some of our favorite features that we use most are the family connection features. Whether we’re writing memos to each other from our unique individual avatars, recording fun messages for family members to listen to, drawing and sharing artwork, or updating “To Do” lists, we now have one easy-to-use place for everything. The 21.5-inch LED touchscreen has become our interactive digital family bulletin board. We can access each other’s calendars and upload photos to share right on the front of the fridge.
Instead of having a dry erase board inside the cabinet for notes to each other, a shopping list stuck to the fridge with a magnet, and post-it notes all over the kitchen from one person to another, we now have a simple, easy-to-use communication spot for everything. We have three kids with three very different schedules, and my husband and I both own our own businesses, so we have a lot of appointments, work functions, and business trips to keep up with. With the Family Hub, everyone can see the family schedule, access Google calendars and know what is happening with the other members of the family.
It’s truly user friendly – the kids are able to zip from one app to another, sending each other notes, looking at family photos, recording messages, and updating their task and chores lists. They check their own schedules and see when they have activities, access their “To Do” lists to check off the chores they’ve done and check for messages or photos that my husband or I have uploaded for them remotely.
The Samsung Family Hub 2.0 has been wonderful for helping us stay on task and plan our days. It’s really a great way to keep our family connected.
Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Food Management
We are also completely in love with the food management features. We can share a family shopping list or keep our shopping lists separate and are able to access them by our smart phones. If I’m not sure whether we’re running low on something, I can look at the contents of our fridge right from the Smart Hub app on my smart phone. That’s right – this awesome fridge has three built-in cameras that show the inside of the fridge.
No more calling home to see if we’re almost out of milk or to ask my husband to read the shopping list for me. I have access to everything right from the Smart Hub app on my phone. I can make a last minute shopping trip any time I want and be totally prepared with an updated shopping list and images of the contents of our fridge. The Family Hub even lets us set up food expiration notifications so can make sure to use our products before they go bad. It’s a great way to save money because we’re not throwing away food that wasn’t used in time.
Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Entertainment
My favorite entertainment feature of our new fridge has to be the streaming music and news. I can play my favorite channels on Pandora and Spotify or listen to NPR or CNN while I’m cooking. When the kids help me with dinner, they love to search for kids’ videos on Google and will play videos to dance along with while they work.
My husband’s favorite feature of the Family Hub is the TV Mirroring. We have a Samsung TV upstairs in our playroom that is great for movie nights and game days. With the tv mirrored onto the fridge screen, we don’t miss any of the big games or important parts of movies when we come down for a snack.
Bixby would have to be the kids’ favorite entertainment feature. The Samsung Voice feature, named “Bixby”, has integrated voice-activated features. We can talk to the fridge from anywhere in the kitchen and ask Bixby the weather forecast, the time, for a recipe, or to open different apps and play music or news. The kids love asking Bixby crazy questions and laughing at the responses. If Bixby does not know the answer, it will search the question on Google and display the results on the LED screen. Bixby will also add products to our shopping list, order groceries online, and even help manage our to-do lists and calendars.
Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Food Storage & Organization
Of course, we also love the amazing storage available for our food. The fridge was designed to make the best use of space possible. We can fit everything we need for a family of five into the fridge easily using the different areas and compartments.
There is a FlexZone™ Drawer between the fridge and the freezer that I absolutely love. Depending on what we’re storing at the time, the FlexZone can be adjusted to cool properly for different types of food – with 4 different temperature control settings and a smart divider to help keep the food organized. And with the large, deep freezer drawer, we have plenty of room for all of our frozen food storage as well.
By taking flexibility and functionality to a whole new level, the Samsung Family Hub 2.0 has helped us organize our household, plan our days, and to connect as a family.
