I’m such a sucker for packaging. My husband laughs at me because I will buy a product I absolutely don’t need just for the jar or bottle it comes in. I love having cute bottles of bath soaps in a basket beside the tub, jars of great spices and condiments arranged on shelves in the kitchen and decorative bottles and jars throughout the house.
And my latest love of containers is from crafts. Whether it’s making a cute, decorated jar with cookie mix inside as a present or making painted or tinted jars to give as a set, I just love working with them. I’ve made homemade infused olive oil before as a gift and love the way it looked in a pretty bottle. I found this Cranberry-Lime Infused Vodka online and think it would be the prettiest and coolest gift!
Isn’t that gorgeous? I don’t even know if I’d use it if someone gave it to me; I’d probably leave it out as decor!
I’ve seen so many photos on Pinterest of crafts and gifts made from jars, plastic bottles and glass bottles and always wondered where the people got the containers from. The only containers I’ve ever seen for sale at stores are specific sizes, like canning, and not really made for other purposes.
I ended up finding a great place to buy them online for a lot cheaper than I would have expected. I can get glass bottles of all shapes and sizes from the tiniest little glass vials all the way up to huge, wide-mouth jars that would be great for kitchen food storage and crafts. Even specialty items, like pretty perfume bottles, small lip balm containers and fancy bath and body cream jars are sold at great prices. I can search by size or just browse through the different items to see what I might need (or just want!).
Here’s another jar look I love. It’s rustic and laid-back, but still so pretty for a party or picnic:
Cute, right?
I’ve been having a great time checking out the different options and can’t wait to get my order. I’m going to get some huge wide mouth jars for my pasta and different baking supplies, so they’ll look much prettier on my shelves. And I’ll be getting lots of cool jars, plastic bottles and glass bottles for crafts too. Be sure to stay tuned for some fun crafts posts coming up soon!

I am the same way. I have a small “hoard” of cute jars and bottles. I love re-using the candle jars from YC and B&BW to hold soaps and cotton swabs in the bathroom.

I probably have a dozen or more ‘how-to paint glass jars’ pinned on Pinterest but I haven’t tried it yet. I LOVE the look, hopefully I’ll get brave enough to try it out soon! Thanks for all the great ideas and motivation! 🙂

Love bottles and jars too. My mom always took really pretty bottles and loaded them with broken windshield glass (my dad was a mechanic and always had car parts laying around). Then color the water and put them in the window.
