With three young kids, we have a lot of stools throughout the house. In front of the sinks, beside the beds and to reach the counters. Some of them are cuter than others, but none are very pretty.
So I decided to fix that.
I decided to add some color and fun to the stool in the girls’ bathroom. They picked out a bright pink paint and I picked out an awesome Shape Tape.
Shape Tape™ is a new, very cool type of painter’s tape from FrogTape. It comes in pre-cut patterns of Chevron, Wave and Scallop and can be used to create all sorts of cool designs on furniture, crafts, walls and more.
Here’s the pitiful, plain, old stool I decided to paint.
To get started, I just peeled off one side of the Shape Tape™ and placed where I wanted it. Then I peeled off the other side and pressed it down.
As I placed more pieces of Shape Tape™ across the stool, I was able to align them easily because I could peel off and reapply the tape when it was crooked. Loved that!
Once the Shape Tape™ was in place, I let the kids “help” me paint.
I then painted another coat on the stool to make sure the top was covered.
Once the paint was dry, I just peeled the Tape right off.
This is how it turned out:
I really like it! The girls are thrilled with the look and it couldn’t have been easier.
I can’t wait to try more projects around the house with my new Shape Tape!
Shape Tape™ is awesome because it’s been treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology, meaning it forms a micro-barrier that seals the edge of the tape. So even when my young kids are helping me paint, it doesn’t bleed under the tape.
FrogTape’s Shape Tape is available at participating Walmart and Lowes locations and at all Menards stores across the U.S.. Visit http://frogtape.com/shapetape for more information.
Wow this is so neat! I have a few little ones also and there are an unmentioned number of step stools in our house too 😉 this would be just the thing to do on a rainy day, we love to jazz household items up a bit!
Love it!! The tape is so fun and useful. Perfect to add a special touch to anything 🙂
I love this. This would be great for kids crafts or for an entire wall!!!
I really like how it turned out! Very nice!
That is very cute! And I love that it doesn’t require vinyl.
That stool came out very cute. I am going to have to look for this tape, it gives me a lot of ideas. I could use the wave shaped tape for a wall border.
Why didn’t I think of that, shape tape , I mean; what a great idea. I am going to go find me some of that, I have so many projects I can use this on
I have never even heard of Shape Tape! Where has this been all my life. My daughter and I have been working on a bunch fo projects this summer and this would be so cool to use. Thanks for sharing this info!
this is adorable & i just got back from goodwill & i saw a cute table i could this to! thanks for the tip!
The stool turned out so cute, that shape tape is amazing, love that no bleed technology, so even I could do it with no mess-ups 😀
Oh wow how adorable! I have a bedside table that is a little worse for wear looking and I’d love to do something like this to it
What a fun and cute DIY project. Plus I need stools because im so short!
My girls would love that stool–so cute!
So cute and beautiful!
The stool is really cute but I am loving all these shape tapes I am seeing! I so need it drawn out for me as I do not have a steady hand and I am not artistic in the paint department!
I love that color pink! Absolutely obsessed with FrogTape ~ especially the Shape Tape.
This turned out beautiful! I didn’t even know they had shape tape
This is so cute! If I ever have a little girl, I’ll have to make her one for the bathroom! thank you for sharing!
