I spend a lot of time in my car. Whether it’s carpool twice a day, running errands or driving one of the children to an activity, I probably average more than an hour a day in the car. Unfortunately for my toddler son, he’s in the car for that hour with me.
I read him books while stopped in carpool and sing silly songs as we drive around town, but he’s tired of me after only a few minutes. Once he gets bored he gets fussy and once that happens the rest of the ride can be a little miserable.
So when I got the MobiGo 2 for review, I let him try it. The MobiGo 2 was designed for kids between 3 and 8, which definitely fits my daughters’ ages better, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
And he LOVES it!
His favorite is the coloring game, where he can use the touchscreen to choose a color and then click on a section of the picture to color it in. He knows how to swipe the colors to the side to see more choices and will just color a picture over and over for a while. He also loves just pushing random buttons apparently. I’ll hear beeps and bells and whirls coming from the back seat and know he’s not even sure how to play, but he’s quiet and having fun with a child-appropriate game so I’m thrilled. 🙂
He loves it so much that he doesn’t want to share it. Which is unfortunate because his sisters love it as much as he does.
The MobiGo 2 comes with lots of fun apps, activities and games so the girls have been having a ball trying out everything. My five year old has been playing Teddy Tower 2 where she fills in missing letters in words. She’s been playing it a lot and is so proud of herself when she spells the word correctly. My seven year old’s favorite game right now is Color Flip, where she uses problem solving to change the opponent’s (the MobiGo’s) pieces and win the game.
I love that they’re both having a lot of fun while still learning at the same time. And with over 80 additional apps that I can download from VTech online, I won’t run out of fun games and learning activities as the kids get a little older.
I’ve been really happy with the MobiGo 2. It has so many features that set it apart from other handheld games my kids have used in the past. From the touchscreen, motion and microphone (which make for some awesome games!) to the e-reader, photo album and photo viewer, there really is something for every kid to enjoy.
My final thought?
The MobiGo 2 is perfect for travel and will keep your kids busy and happy for a long time. It definitely has with mine! 🙂
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for VTech. I received product samples to facilitate my review.
This is great! I think I will get my son this for Christmas!!
