My family loves yogurt. We eat a lot of it, from the baby boy all the way up to the grown ups. My daughters love to have yogurt as a treat and even choose it as dessert sometimes. There is always some in the fridge at our house.
When I was given the opportunity to try Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt, I thought it was about time I give it a try. I’ve heard so many people talking about Greek yogurt, but have to admit I never bought it. I’m a bit a of a creature of habit and not very daring with my food choices. I thought that Greek yogurt sounded strange and wasn’t really interested in it, since we already love our regular yogurt so much.
It turns out that Greek yogurt actually tastes very similar to the yogurt we’ve been buying for years, but the consistency is thicker and richer. Dannon® Oikos® is created through an authentic Greek straining process which gives it a rich and creamy-thick texture.
So we tried it. And everyone loved it! There are lots of delicious flavors, including Black Cherry, Honey, Strawberry, Vanilla and Plain. We tried the strawberry and loved it so much we already have the other flavors on our grocery list for next week. Dannon Oikos comes in single serve, 4 packs, quarts and in drinkable yogurts. And with its thicker, creamier texture, it supposed to be easy to substitute Oikos for regular sour cream, mayonnaise, or cream cheese (and with 80% less fat!). Check out the recipe for the Greek Key Lime Pie here. I’m definitely going to be making this soon.
I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to try Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt. No wonder everyone is talking about it! It’s so good. Its creamy and thick, so it’s more filling than the runnier version. Definitely a hit in my family. Plus, with its higher protein and lower fat content, Greek yogurt is much more diet-friendly than its traditional counterpart. You could also make it even more diet-friendly with the use of a weight loss system; check out these Sensa reviews to learn more!
