If you’re like me, you’ve probably tried a lot of skin care products. I’ve tried some based on reviews, some based on sales, and I’ll admit that I’ve even bought some because of the packaging.
When I was given the opportunity to try the Exuviance Performance Peel, I worried that it would burn my skin. I have combination skin and the dry areas are really, really dry and sensitive. Even basic skincare face creams can burn sometimes. I checked some reviews online, though, and after seeing other reviewers confirming that it was gentle on sensitive skin, I agreed to give it a try.
I try to take good care of my skin, but it can be difficult to find products that don’t burn my face. So I do use cleansers and lotions/creams, but don’t use at-home peels usually.
The Exuviance Performance Peel comes with a six week supply of peels, which includes 12 activator pads, 12 neutralizer pads and a test pad. I tried the test pad on my arm and didn’t feel any burning or tingling, so I moved on to my face.
It’s really easy to use, just wipe across your face and neck with an activator pad avoiding the eyes and lips. After 10 minutes (or sooner if you feel tingling or burning), wipe the same areas with the neutralizer pad and then rinse well with water.
I was surprised that I was able to last the entire 10 minutes from the very first peel. I didn’t really feel any tingling from the activator pads, although my skin felt a little tacky. Once I used the neutralizer pad, my skin felt nice and clean without any film or residue. My face looked brighter right after the peel and felt softer to the touch. I was thrilled!
Exuviance Performance Peel claims that with regular use, up to twice a week, this peel has been clinically proven to:
- Refine pore size and smooth texture
- Visibly diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Improve clarity and brightness
- Brighten and even skin tone
- Provide an all-over healthy glow, suppleness and smoothness to skin
This is a photo from the NeoStrata website, showing the effect on a Exuviance user:
Overall, I was really happy with my results. I saw some difference in the pores and in my skin tone. My dry patches would even out and seem healthier for a day or two after the peel. I didn’t use the peel as regularly and often as I’d planned because of vacations and a unsightly summer sunburn, but I plan to with my next box. Even using the Exuviance Peel sporadically, I was able to see a difference for a couple of days with each use. I’d like to start using it twice a week from now on to keep the improved look and feel constant.
I’ve seen Exuviance before at my local Ulta, so I’m planning a trip over soon to pick up another box. The price for all 12 treatments is $68, so although that may seem life a hefty price tag, each treatment ends up being less than $6. That’s a great deal for an at-home peel that actually works!
