My mother has had a stripe of gray hair down one side of the back of her head since she was 15. I thought it was kind of cool when I was young and always wondered if I’d get one too. I didn’t. Instead, when I was about 25, I started getting gray hairs on each side of my hair, where the part is. If I part my hair in the middle, you don’t really notice it, but a middle part is a baaaaad look for me, so I’ve just gotten used to coloring the gray hair.
Unfortunately, now that I have three children, my hair and nail appointments are few and far between. It seems like I only get to the salon when things have become so bad it’s not bearable anymore. As my hair color grows and and the roots and gray hair start to show, I start wearing headbands. The longer I let my hair go, the more headbands and hats I wear. It’s not a great remedy.
I finally have the perfect product for busy moms like me. The Rita Hazan Root Concealer is exactly what I’ve needed over the past few years.
Rita Hazan’s Root Concealer is an easy-to-use temporary spray that covers your roots in just seconds. Available in blonde, dark brown/black, light brown, red/auburn and dark blonde, there is a shade to match every hair color. The Root Concealer is water and stain resistant and dries in just seconds, so it won’t stain skin or clothes. It’s the perfect way to keep your roots in check until you can get to the salon.
I’m embarrassed to show my before photo, but will reassure you that I don’t normally let it get this bad! I knew that I’d be reviewing the root concealer, so I purposefully didn’t color my hair for even longer than normal to be able to really see how well the root concealer works when it arrived.
And it really does! See for yourself:
I love it!
The first time I used it, I will admit that I used too much and it made my hair feel a bit stiff and dirty. I used it several times after that, though, and with the correct amount it looked and felt natural.
You’ll be relieved to know that I’ve since colored my hair, but I’m sure I’ll be using the Rita Hazan Root Concealer again as soon as it starts to grow it. And if it works this well on a LOT of long gray strands and roots, imagine how well it will work on normal growing-out roots!

What color/shade did you use?

I used the light brown. My hair is pretty dark, but I was worried that the dark brown/black would be too dark, so I tried light brown first. It worked perfectly! 🙂
