A few weeks ago, some blogger friends and I took a trip down to Universal Orlando Resort. I’ve been to Universal with my family before, but this trip was just about us – a girls only getaway.
If you’re not familiar with Universal Orlando Resort, it actually contains two theme parks – Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Along with the theme parks, Universal Orlando Resort also contains the unique dining and entertainment of Universal CityWalk, along with spectacular on-site hotels.
Universal Orlando Resort is the perfect getaway for families, couples, friends and more!
Universal Studios Florida lets you go behind the scenes and be a part of the action in your favorite films. As the world’s premiere movie and TV based theme park, Universal Studios Florida offers a spectacular selection of rides, shows, movie sets, movie characters and attractions that make you the star.
Some of my favorite attractions at Universal Studios Florida are the insanely scary Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster, the very cool and unique Revenge of the Mummy ride, being a part of a movie in Disaster, the action-packed Transformers 3D and the adorable and fun Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
At Universal’s Islands of Adventure, you’ll experience all of your favorite legends, comic books, cartoons, myths and children’s stories brought to life before your eyes. There are cutting-edge rides and attractions unlike any other in the world!
Favorite rides and attractions at Universal’s Islands of Adventure include the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, the exciting (and wet!) Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, the terrifying and fast The Incredible Hulk coaster and the High in the Sky Seuss Trolly Train Ride with a scenic and relaxing view of most of the park.
Of course, if you’re heading to Universal Studios Florida, you have to check out the Harry Potter attractions! There are cool and unique rides and attractions on both sides of the park and an awesome train ride from one to the other, so be sure to get to both parks and experience it all.
At Universal’s Islands of Adventure, visit the charming village of Hogsmeade, where you can stroll through the streets while you enjoy the fabulous shopping and dining. Then head over to Hogwarts, where you’ll see the classrooms and corridors of the school, then soar above the castle on a magical ride with Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
At Universal Studios Florida, you’ll get to find the hidden Diagon Alley and wander through the most famous shops in all the wizarding world. Then get ready for the thrill of joining Harry and his friends as you ride Escape from Gringotts.
Be sure to have a Park-to-Park admission so you can sneak into the hidden Platform 9 ¾ and ride the Hogwarts Express. The train travels from King’s Cross Station in London (Universal Studios Florida) all the way over to Hogsmeade Station (Island’s of Adventure). While the train is moving, be sure to keep an eye out for any excitement that may happen while you travel!

My grown daughter would love to ride the Hogwarts Express train with my 9 yr old granddaughter – they’re big fans of Harry Potter. Meanwhile, I could take the Seuss train with my almost 5 yr old granddaughter. Hopefully we will make a trip to Universal Orlando Resort during the kids’ summer vacation. 🙂
