Since the weather has been colder here lately, we’ve started enjoying hot chocolate a lot more often. It’s a delicious, warm treat that the kids all love.
We’ve even been dressing it up with Whipped Cream Hearts. The kids love them!
Whipped Cream Hearts
Choose plastic cookie cutter shapes that are small enough to fit into the top of your coffee mugs.
Arrange the cookie cutters on a plate lined with wax paper.
Spoon whipped cream (I used a tub of light whipped topping) into the cookie cutters.
Smooth over the top of the cutters and and remove any excess topping.
Place plate into the freezer and freeze the filled cookie cutters for several hours. I leave mine overnight to make sure they’re completely frozen and will slide out of the cookie cutters easily. Just press with your finger around the frozen whipped cream until the heart slides out.
Add to hot chocolate for a lightly sweet and creamy treat. Yum!
I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. Love this idea – makes it cute and cools the cocoa a bit faster for the little ones đ

I love this idea, you could even tint the whipped cream and use different shapes for special occasions. But I agree with you on using it as a special treat for everyday, Â The weather has really stayed cold this year and after a long day like that, who would not want a warm tasty treat to share with the kids and grown ups too. Â Thanks for sharing.
I think this is a wonderful idea! There have been times when I have had to dispose of whipped topping  because I didn’t have a use for it. I had no idea I could do this and freeze!Â
