So….7 random facts about me:

1.  Before having girls, I swore that if I ever had a daughter, we would not have princess toys in our house.  I hated the idea of teaching little girls that they should be pretty and wait for a prince to rescue them.  I still feel that way, but our house now looks like Cinderella’s castle exploded here.
2.  I color my hair at home, a pretty shade of brown with reddish highlights.  In order to end up with this color, though, I have to overdo it a bit.  I end up with a very interesting shade of blackish-purple for a couple of days until I wash it a few times.  I think the other moms wonder about my teeny-tiny Goth phases.
3.  I was an extra in an Ethan Hawke movie in college (when he was still ETHAN HAWKE!) and got to met him.
4.  My favorite color is orange.
5.  If there is a mosquito within a half mile of me, it will find me and attack me.  Mercilessly.
6.  I’ve never had coffee.  Never even tasted it.
7.  I sang in a band in college.

  5. Ah…but I can drink 8,794 ounces of Diet Coke in one sitting.

    When I met Ethan, it was like something out of a sitcom. He said hello and I said “I…um….you’re….wow. I……..it’s nice to…..um…..so hi…..uh…..” I’m sure he was really impressed. 🙂

    I’m not sure I was that great of a singer, actually. Everyone in the audience was always drunk, though, so it worked out fine. I’m not a lawyer, just managed a lot of lawyers. Eventually married one of them and now I’m a mom. 🙂

  6. Congrats!! The princess thing is funny! I like the Disney princesses, and will have tons of Disney princess stuff for my future little girl, but I agree that it doesn’t really send them a good message.

  13. I felt the SAME way with my little girl – no pink, I said. What’s the first color she knew? Pink. She’s 2 and she always choose pink over every other color. Oh well… could be worse, I suppose – she could like yellow. 🙂

  19. Never had coffee?!?!?! I LIVE on coffee – literally! I can drink a nice, big cup right before bed and pass out, no problem.
