There are very few activities that my kids love as much as Play-Doh. It’s been an iconic staple in American households for decades, including in my house growing up, and in now my husband’s and my home with our three children.
Whether they’re using a cool Play-Doh kit that makes food and drinks or just creating their own masterpieces, the kids never get tired of it. There is no limit to what they can create with Play-Doh and it’s wonderful to see their imagination and creativity at work!
Since World Play-Doh Day is September 16th, the kids wanted to make a few sculptures to celebrate. They had a ball shaping, rolling and cutting out the shapes, and talking about what to make. They worked on a few landmarks, but quickly decided that stars would be better since they could all work on them together.
Here are their “Red, White and Blue American Stars”:
Hasbro and Play-Doh is celebrating World Play-Doh Day on September 16th by hosting a Facebook Parade featuring lots of awesome Play-Doh sculptures that show national pride.
Select sculpts will be chosen to be featured as part of the #WorldPlayDohDay Parade on the Play-Doh Facebook page!
Be sure to join the fun by grabbing your Play-Doh and encouraging the kids to help show off their national pride! The sculpture can be of a favorite landmark, cultural icon, national food or patriotic symbol. Snap a picture of the sculpture and share it directly to the official Play-Doh Facebook page wall between now and September 14th.
You are welcome to share as many sculpts to the Play-Doh Facebook page as you would like, and to invite your family and friends to do the same. Please make sure the sculpts are appropriate for a kid-friendly audience and do not feature brand names, characters or pop-culture icons.
After we finished making patriotic sculpts for the parade, the kids decided to open a restaurant. They spent the afternoon creating lots of yummy foods to serve to the customers and had a ball doing it.
The kids played for hours together, squishing, molding, rolling, cutting and having fun.
Play-Doh continues to captivate the imaginations of millions of children around the world – join the fun for #WorldPlayDohDay!
