Pool Noodle Games
The kids are old enough now to want to do crafts on their own without much help from me. I’ve discovered that pool noodles are a great product to stock up on because they’re so inexpensive and so versatile.
The kids love to build forts out of them, make pool noodle games with them, and do all sorts of DIY projects and pool noodle crafts too.
Where to Buy Pool Noodles for Games
Our local Dollar Tree always has these from spring through early fall so I grab lots of different colors when I see them in stock. At the end of summer or beginning of fall, all of the pool noodles that are left are sold at clearance for $0.50 or $0.25 each. That’s the perfect time to stock up for indoor activities and fun when the weather turns too cold to play outside.
How to Cut Pool Noodles
Many of the activities use the pool noodles whole so kids can get started building and creating on their own. For the ones that require the pool noodles to be cut, I go ahead and cut the pieces myself with a serrated-edge knife or small hand saw. The noodles aren’t difficult to cut through at all, but my kids aren’t old enough yet to handle that safely.
I bought a bunch of cheap pool noodles in fun colors and wanted to share the pool noodle ideas I’ve found. Be sure to grab some from your local dollar store and give these fun DIY Pool Noodle Games and projects a try!
