With two little girls in the family, you can bet there is a lot of Disney Princess around. We have dresses for most of the princesses, Princess books, toys, coloring books, Blu-Ray/DVDs, sheets and more. If it’s a Disney Princess product, it’s a safe bet that my girls will love it and want it. It definitely makes life easier for me and for my family when it’s time to buy birthday and Christmas presents for my daughters!
When we were shopping for groceries a few weeks ago, my girls saw a huge Disney Princess display near the toy section and immediately wanted to take a look. We were in a hurry though, so I made a mental note to go back and look for Christmas list ideas.
I decided to shop alone last week while my husband played with the kids, so I could get a jump start on Christmas shopping. Before I headed to Walmart, I downloaded the Disney Princess Augmented Reality App on my iPhone. It’s free, available on Apple and Android and is really cute.
The app was easy to use and I was soon designing a fancy gown for the ball. Once I finished the outfit, I unlocked the carriage and could decorate and design it too. I know my girls will have a great time playing with the app. I can’t wait to bring them back to Walmart and have them play with it there, because by scanning special codes in the Disney pictures, they’ll be able to unlock even more features to play with. Very cool!
Just find the Cinderella, Disney Logo or Fairy Godmother pictures in the store and scan with the app. I know the girls will love it.
After I had some fun playing around with the app, I started shopping for Disney Princess toys. Walmart has so many on sale right now that I had lots of cool things to choose from.
There were Disney Princess toys for the littlest of princesses, like Little People Princesses and accessories, all the way up to Princess ride-on toys, dress-up costumes and dolls. I finally decided to help Santa and get a huge Disney Princess Castle for him to leave out for both of the girls on Christmas morning.
It’s the Disney Princess Ultimate Dream Castle. It’s huge and pink and fun and I know they’re going to freak out and completely love it! 🙂
I headed to the Layaway counter to start my purchase. Since I haven’t used layaway before, I wasn’t really sure how it worked. The Walmart associate was really nice and explained the process to me. I just paid a $5 fee to start the layaway and then needed to pay either 10% of the price or $10 (whichever is more). I had until December 14th to pay off the rest of the amount and then the castle would be ours. The associate also assured me that the castle would be held in the back of the store with my name and layaway account on it so even if they sell out, my product is safe and waiting for me.
I paid a little under $20 to start the layaway process for the Disney Princess Ultimate Dream Castle and was finished in just a couple of minutes. It was a really easy process and when I finished I got a long receipt with all of the information and my payment.
The layaway process at Walmart was easy and quick. I’m excited about paying it off when I can and bringing it home for my daughters. I’ll let you know how that goes soon – stay tuned!
