If you’re like me, you probably try to limit the amount of contact your kids have with chemicals. Whether it’s using green cleaning products or avoiding certain food dyes, many parents are doing what they can to keep their kids safer.
So I loved hearing that Elmer’s now has a new line of glue called Elmer’s Naturals School Glue. It’s made from over 99% natural ingredients and is just as safe and non-toxic as the Elmer’s School Glue we’ve all used and loved for years.
Elmer’s Naturals School Glue is made from plants, which are a rapidly renewable resource, so it’s better for the environnent as well as for our children’s skin. And the bottle and label are Earth friendly too. The bottle is made from 25% post-consumer recycled plastic and the label is made from 20% recycled paper. The label is even printed with soy inks and adhered with a natural rubber adhesive. Very cool!
Of course, as soon as we opened the box, my kids were ready to test it out!
We got some craft inspiration from the Elmer’s Craft Section on their website. The kids all changed animals once we started crafting, though, so instead of a family of penguins, we ended up with a frog, a bunny and a lion.
We just put glue on construction paper and then stuck it onto toilet paper rolls. Then the kids drew and glued on their animal faces and details. It was really easy and fun!
I’d read that the glue might vary in color but that it goes on and dries clear. Ours looked pretty clear, maybe with a pearly white sheen and it did dry clear. It was a little harder to squeeze out of the bottle, but ours was cold from sitting on the delivery truck in the early morning, so that may have made it thicker.
Here are the final products:
If you love crafting with your kids, be sure to check out the new Elmer’s Naturals School Glue!

I didn’t hear about this until now but I love that they have this. I know in school and at home, my grandson uses a lot of glue for his projects so this is awesome. He’ll be getting this sent with him next school year

What a great product. I am going to show this to my two youngest daughters as they worry what the kids are exposed to. First I’ve heard of it as well. The project is just so cute. 🙂

Oh, this is cute and easy!! I need crafts like this for the summer. My daughter, the little artist, is already trying to plan out her summer crafts lol and she still has 7 days left of school. My 17 year old stepson is coming for 3 weeks, she was planning crafts for him too… I told him last night he better be ready for craft time with his sister

I love these – my little guy loves crafts, but he lacks the fine motor skills to do very complicated things… these, however, would be a cinch for him to do! and more eco-friendly, that’s always a plus! thanks for sharing!

I like making craft items and using Elmer’s glue with my niece and nephew. We usually make something for every Holiday. I am making some Glitter Red white and blue flag hears to put outside. Elmer’s makes the best craft glue!
