It’s the holiday season and if you’re anything like me, that means entertaining!

I love to entertain throughout the year, with cookouts, game-day gatherings and dinner parties, but the holidays are different. Friends I haven’t seen in a year are back in town and I want everything to be just right when they visit.

When the holidays come, I put in that extra effort to make sure everything is perfect, whether the gathering is big or small. In fact, one of my favorite ways to entertain this time of year is very small – just a few old friends spending an evening together catching up.

I have a group of friends that have mostly moved away, so when they’re all back in town visiting family, we make it a point to spend one evening all together. This year, I’ve invited everyone over to my house and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve already started decorating and planning what we’ll need for the night.

Since my friends will come over after things settle down at their families’ houses, they will all have eaten dinner. That makes my responsibility easy – just wine and nibbles.

And this year I have the perfect pairing – Brookside Chocolates and Clos du Bois Wines.

The girls and I will usually sit on the back deck if it’s not too chilly, enjoying our time together while we sip a nice wine and nibble on treats. I pride myself on finding great pairings for my nights, so that everyone really enjoys themselves fully.
