Do you ever feel like electronic games have taken over too many American households?
Kids sit inside their houses instead of getting exercise and playing out in the sun. They play computer and electronic games instead of playing with real people. They zone out when they’re plugged in, instead of using their imaginations.
This summer, we’re getting unplugged and using our imaginations and bodies to play! And one of my kids’ favorite ways to pretend is through dress up and role playing. But the princess and super hero costumes have pretty much been played out in our house. It was time for something new, so I headed online to Costume Express to look for ideas. As soon as I got to the website, I could see lots of great costumes I knew the kids would love to dress up in.
I was immediately drawn to the “Dress Up” and “Cops & Firefighters” categories. The kids all love being creative and playing different characters, so I thought firefighter or police dress up would be a lot of fun.
As I looked through the different dress up costumes, I could see all of the details up close with the zoom feature. The costumes were rated and reviewed by other customers so I could tell which ones were rated high. There were even photos submitted from other customers showing their kids in the costumes. It was easy to tell exactly what we’d be getting if we ordered the costumes, which you may know is NOT the case with many costume companies.

I decided to order the Deluxe Policeman Child Costume, along with an extra badge, extra handcuffs and mirrored sunglasses (of course!). I plan to buy the girls’ police costume that was out of stock later on, but for now, the kids can share the costume and play together with the handcuffs and badges.
As soon as the package arrived, my kids were all excited about trying it on and playing Police dress up!
My toddler son was getting a little fussy and didn’t want to post for pictures, but my younger daughter was happy to try the costume out. As soon as she got it on, she was directing toddler traffic and writing speeding tickets. (I don’t have a clue where she might have learned about speeding tickets.) O.o
After her street patrol, my daughter was able to rid the neighborhood of dangerous pirates. She put handcuffs on this pirate and took her to headquarters.
The kids were having a ball and I loved watching them be so creative. It was nice to have them outside, unplugged from electronics and using their imaginations! And since they all love the Police Dress Up theme so much, I know we’ll be doing a lot more of it this summer.

I think the outfit that your daughter is wearing fits her really well, and she looks so cute playing a police officer. I like that outfit and need to look at this site for other costumes to see what they have for Halloween, but it is also fun to have the kids play dress up and get out of the house!
This would be a great Halloween costume or just to play dress ups!!! My granddaughter would look so cute in the police uniform!!

These are great costumes. Its just not an outfit but the police person one has all the things to go with it so he has all that a real one has on his or her job. This would be ideal for Halloween also as well as for dress up playing. thanks for the information on these.
My kids have ordered from here before for my grandchildren and they have the cutest selection of outfits. One we had to have for last year in kindergarten where it was a day they had to dress in uniform of something they’d like to be when they grow up. So, my daughter went there and ordered.

That’s SUCH a great costume! You’ll have to go back for the one with the skirt for a whole family of cops. Maybe they’ll remind you to slow your butt down while driving.

I use to love to play dress up as a kid. Now you seldom see kids playing and using their imaginations, they stay inside on the couch glued to the TV. What a shame, makes you want the old days back.
