In my family, proper dental hygiene is a must. I want my children to understand why good dental hygiene and health are important, because I don’t think I really understood as a child. I brushed my teeth because I wanted fresh breath, but unless I had something stuck in my teeth or had a dentist appointment the next week, I never flossed.
Since we want our kids to really understand why it’s important, we set good examples and have set routines with our dental care. We all brush our teeth at least twice a day, floss regularly, and make sure we visit the dentist regularly.
Although I work from home, there are a lot of times that I’m out with the kids on field trips or at their schools at lunch or snack time. It’s not always convenient for me to brush my teeth right away, so I like to carry a pack of Trident in my handbag.
