This Teach Kids to Code post is part of a sponsored campaign. All opinions are my own.
When my kids were babies and then toddlers, I made product purchases carefully. The mobile hanging above the crib was bought to soothe the babies to sleep with peaceful classical music. The playmats and strollers bars we chose had been designed to help the little ones work on eye-hand coordination. The stories we read to them were from award-winning books to stimulate the babies’ minds.
As the children got a little older, they began to play with toys of all types. Some toys and games had more educational or developmental benefits than others. But as I can attest after overhauling the entire playroom toy cabinet over the summer, many did not. Some toys were gifts, some simply didn’t do what we’d hoped they would do, but we had a loooootttttt of toys that really weren’t worth our time or money.
Our children are all growing and their minds are developing so quickly, it’s important to help them. My husband and I are recommitting ourselves to finding fun activities and toys that will help our children learn and grow as they play.
The best educational toy that I have seen in years is Botley.
Teach Kids to Code – Educational Toys
Botley is an easy-to-use robot that helps children as young as 5 learn coding while they play. That’s right – as young as 5 years old. If that makes you wonder if Botley will be too complicated for your family, don’t worry! Botley is ready to use right out of the box and will have your kids coding in minutes. They don’t need to have any coding experience at all because Botley is so easy to use. And because Botley grows with children as well, it can be enjoyed by kids of all ages for many fun years together!
Our kids loved Botley before we even turned him on. The bright, colorful pieces and paths that came with Botley were a hit before I could finish unpacking the box. The children immediately went to work putting the paths together and placing obstacles, flags, and cubes along the path before they even knew what we were doing.
Once we had Botley out of the box and ready to go, the real fun began.
Teach Kids to Code – Easy and Fun Toys
The kids quickly learned how to code Botley to follow a lined path that they created. It was so fun to see and hear Botley follow the commands they programmed for him.
As the kids continue to play with Botley, I can see them learning while they play. They make more and more complicated commands for the robot as they play. The kids are able to make Botley detect objects and then either avoid them or interact with them. They have even created long, intricate obstacle courses for Botley to follow and work together to code until the course is finished perfectly.
They love being more and more creative with the coding cards and games, Botley’s detachable arms, and the interactive obstacles as they play and learn.
I love seeing them having a ball while they benefit from multi-level learning. The kids are learning to code paths, complicated courses, and activities for the robot to follow instead of mindlessly playing with a toy. They are actively engaging and learning every step of the way.
The kids love Botley so much that we made fun little treats in his honor! They had a ball playing and coding while they enjoyed Botley-themed cookies.
Teach Kids to Code – Educational Benefits
Botley helps foster creative problem solving and computational thinking skills, while promoting social and physical development. It’s a hit with the kids because it’s so fun and a hit with my husband and me because it has so many educational benefits. As a Mom, I need to choose a toy that is educational and fun, but also worth the cost. Botley is absolutely that toy!
All three of my kids are having fun with Botley, despite their different ages. With his advanced features, Botley not only grows with the kids’ coding skills, but easily adapts to different skill levels and ages. Botley can be coded for up to 120 steps, including looping and moving around objects with if/then logic, and even has hidden features to unlock!
If you’re looking for the perfect toy for your kids, Botley is that toy. It’s 100% screen-free, easy to use straight from the box, and includes 77 different activity pieces for endless hours of programming and coding fun. There’s no phone or tablet required – kids use the remote programmer to transmit the commands and off Botley goes!
Botley has won numerous awards, including the 2018 Parent’s Choice award and 2018 Family Choice award. Botley has been recognized as a product that entertains and teaches with flair, stimulates imagination, and inspires creativity.
You’ll love watching your kids as young as 5 learn to code as they play and have fun. Botley’s educational value and learning possibilities will help your children grow and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They’ll be learning important STEM skills early as they laugh and play with Botley.
