This is a sponsored post on behalf of StarKist®. All opinions are my own.
As my kids get older, they have more opinions about what they like—the clothes they wear, the music they listen to and the foods they eat. It’s understandable that they want to have a say in the choices in their lives, so whenever possible I let them make the decisions.
When it comes to the other things, I try to guide them a little. I might pick out two or three outfits for school and let them choose their favorite. Or I’ll make a meal that’s good for them, but let them choose a fruit or veggie to go with it. I’m satisfied because the result is something I’m OK with and the kids are happy that they were able to take part in the process.
One of my favorite ways to serve foods that they’re unfamiliar with is to make it fun. It’s a great way to introduce them to new things they might not have seen before. And, more often than not, they end up finding a great new food that they love!
That was the case with this recipe. I made these for the first time last week and they have already asked for them again several times—a huge hit in my book!
Easy Honey BBQ Pita Tuna Bowls Recipe
Slice a pita pouch around the outer edge, separating the two sides.
Using a cookie cutter, cut out round shapes in the pita bread.
Place the pita circles into the cups of a muffin pan.
Bake at 400° for 4-5 minutes until crispy and browning along the edges.
Place about 2 teaspoons of StarKist® Kid’s Creations® Honey BBQ tuna into the bottom of each pita bowl.
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then drizzle with ranch or blue cheese dressing.
Enjoy!
I made these with ranch dressing for the kids and with blue cheese for myself. They were so good! In the few minutes it took to bake the pita bowls, I pulled the cheese and dressing out and got the kids’ plates and milk ready. Once the pitas were crispy, I had the bowls totally ready in about two minutes. So easy!
