Easy Ways to Update Home Decor with The Home Depot

My husband and I built our current home after we got married and started having children. We designed the house to fit our growing family and have been pleased with the choices we made. When we first moved in, everything was perfect and new.

Now that we’ve been in our house for 10 years, it’s time for some serious updating to our home décor. The rooms all need to be updated not only in style, but in function as well. The playroom full of toys needs to be updated to include study and gaming areas for older kids. The children’s rooms all need to be updated with styles and furnishings that match their current ages. Other rooms in the house are being used differently than they were ten years ago so I’d love to change them all as well.

I’ve found some gorgeous pieces from the new home décor line at The Home Depot and can’t wait to get started. These are some of my favorite items that we’ll be adding to the house as we update, but there are so many more to choose from that I know I’ll be wanting more.

Easy Ways to Update Home Decor 

One of the best ways to change the look of a room is by using wall art. This fabric printed wall art piece is unique and beautiful. It will be gorgeous in the family room.

I love the casually elegant style of this linen side chair. Two of these will be gorgeous in the front entry way of the house.

This shaker console table will make another pretty addition to our front hall. The simple style will look beautiful with a few décor accessories without overpowering the entry area.

This ottoman will fit perfectly in the main living area in front of our club chairs. I’ll add a throw or a tray table with some books on top and know that it will look beautiful while still being functional when needed.

I absolutely love these pale blue distressed trays. They’re the perfect amount of farmhouse style for our home. I’m not sure if I’ll divide them up and use them in different rooms or keep them together and display them as a set. I may just buy two sets so I can do both – they’re so gorgeous!

These distressed candle holders will be beautiful on the front entry table. We have some similar candle holders on the built-in cabinets of the family room and I love their simplistic beauty.

We’ve had a wood mirror in the front entry for as long as I can remember. I love how a mirror opens up a room and adds more reflective light. We didn’t love our last mirror and this distressed barnwood wall mirror will be perfect above the shaker console table.

I added a lot of bold pops of color when we first built the house and I’m ready for something more serene now. This pretty pillow will match the soft blue color of the linen side chairs and will look beautiful on a sofa.

I love using pillows and throws to add color and the feel of comfort throughout the living areas. This throw can be used draped over the back of a sofa or tucked beside a tray on the ottoman.

Another easy way to make a home décor update is with sculpture art. I love this decorative sculpture because it’s interesting and pretty without being overwhelming.

This medallion art piece would be beautiful on our built-in shelves or on the front entry table. I love that it’s pretty but still neutral enough to style however I want.
